What app design at Senorit covers
App design is the step before development: we work out how your app looks and how people operate it. That saves development cost, because a problem is cheaper to solve on a design file than after it has been built.
Design work
- User research and user-flow analysis
- Wireframes for every core view (low fidelity)
- Visual design (high-fidelity mockups in Figma)
- Clickable prototype for testing with real users
- Design system with reusable components
Platforms and methods
- iOS Human Interface Guidelines (Apple)
- Material Design 3 (Google Android)
- React Native and Expo for cross-platform development
- Figma Dev Mode for a clean developer handover
- Accessibility: WCAG 2.2 AA for mobile
Tools: Figma, FigJam for user flows, Maze for usability testing.
App design for Hamburg industries
Hamburg is a base for logistics tech, maritime software and health apps. Hospitals and medical practices here increasingly build their own patient apps. Logistics companies at the port need scan-and-track apps for warehouse staff. Restaurant groups run ordering and loyalty apps.
Each audience asks for something different. Warehouse staff often operate the app wearing gloves and need large touch targets. Patient apps have to be GDPR-compliant and accessible. Hospitality apps have to load in about a second, because guests have no patience.
We know these constraints from our own project work and account for them during design, before a line of code is written.
A worked example: the VetCar24 staff app
For VetCar24, a mobile veterinary emergency service in Hamburg, we built a staff app alongside the website. It lets the veterinary team see bookings in real time, update the status of a call-out and receive push notifications.
Design started with a user research interview: how does the team work on a call-out, which information do they need immediately, and which can wait? That produced wireframes, then a high-fidelity design in Figma that became the basis for React Native development with Expo.
- Platform: React Native with Expo
- Real-time status updates via Supabase Realtime
- Push notifications for new bookings
- PWA-capable, usable without an app store install

Common questions about app design
Do I need the design finished before development starts? +
Not strictly, but it helps. A clickable prototype lets you test the app with real users before you spend anything on development. Problems found in design cost a fraction of what they cost once built.
Do you only design, or do you build as well? +
Both. Senorit will take on the whole app if you want it: design and development with React Native and Expo. Design and code come from the same place, so nothing is lost in handover.
How many views does the base package include? +
The base UI design package covers up to eight main screens in Figma. For more complex apps beyond about 15 screens we recommend the full design system package, which also covers states, animations and error screens.
Mobile use in Germany, the context
According to Statista, around 80 percent of the German population uses a smartphone, and the figure is stable. Mobile accounted for over 60 percent of all web traffic in 2023. Apps built on poor usability are deleted again within the first three days by 77 percent of users.
For a Hamburg business launching an app, that means the first impression decides it. App design grounded in real user flows and real feedback lowers the drop-off rate and raises actual usage.
